Pensacola based artist, Kelly Whibbs, finds her inspiration right at home on the Gulf Coast. The vibrant beauty and serene energy of her coastal town is infused into her work through layers of color and texture. Most of Kelly’s works are acrylic on canvas and feature organic forms one might find near the sea. She is probably most well known for her paintings of palms, which are featured in many of her collectors’ homes and businesses. Her most recent works are influenced by her seashell collection from a lifetime of beachcombing on Pensacola Beach and Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Kelly enjoys experimenting with scale and light, inviting the viewer to step forward and take a closer look. When she is not painting, Kelly can be found spending time with her husband, their three little boys, and their dog, Chessy. They are on the water whenever possible- whether boating, catching crabs, fishing, or just having themselves a beach day.
